Low-cost airline easyJet launches a new service between Amsterdam and Zurich in late October.

Tickets can be booked from today from 42 euros each way, easyJet said on Thursday.  If the fares look expensive compared to other destinations, it is due to the high airport fees of Zurich Kloten airport.

Zurich will be the third Swiss destination that the British airline flies to from Amsterdam Schiphol. EasyJet is also flying to Basel and Geneva.

The first flight is scheduled for October 31st. The route will be flown throughout the whole year. The timetable shows three flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The new destination is expected to attract both business and leisure travel. Zurich is currently offered from Amsterdam by both KLM and Swiss.

EasyJet flies from Schiphol to more than 35 destinations.

Simultaneously, easyJet will also launch a new thrice-weekly route from Luxembourg to Lyon.
