Suspicious item found on board Air France Boeing 777 from Mauritius to Paris CDG

Air France flight AF463 from Mauritius to Paris CDG diverted to Mombasa, Kenya last night after a suspicious item was found in one of the toilets. At first the Kenyan Aviation Authorities announced on Facebook that a bomb was found on board the Boeing 777-300ER, but this post has been changed into a suspicious item:

 

The object has successfully been retrieved from the Paris bound flight.

Scheduled flights to Mombasa were disrupted this morning due to the incident.

Normal airport operations have resumed at Moi International Airport.

Investigations are underway by the National Security Agents on the ground and Air France.

After a day of conflicting reports about the suspect bomb device, latest news say that is was a ‘false alarm’. The CEO of Air France says the device discovered in a toilet of the Air France flight was a fake bomb.
