European low-cost carrier opens home base in Munich (MUC)

Introduction offer: Flights from 19 Euro

Transavia, the low cost airline of the Air France KLM Group, now offers direct flights between Brussels and Munich and does so 12 times a week. The first flight will be operated on the 25th of March.

Becoming effective at the end of March 2016, Transavia makes Munich Airport a new home base and stations four Boeing 737-800 jets there. With a total of 18 destinations to Italy, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, Croatia, Morocco, Belgium, France and the Netherlands, the subsidiary of the Air France-KLM Group enters the German market and offers more than 89 weekly flights from the Bavarian state capital for summer flight schedule 2016.

We are proud to start a new home base in Munich as we see there is a need in the Bavarian area for our service. We offer travellers to and from Bavaria something new and unique: Manifold travel options for spontaneous getaways and business travels at attractive fares with Transavia as an affordable and accessible airline for everyone.” says Mattijs ten Brink, CEO of Transavia. “Transavia has successfully operated its business model in Europe for more than 50 years. The basis for every flight is our friendliness, excellent service experience, hospitality and affordable prices for our customers.”

Transavia is the first low-cost airline to build a home base at Munich Airport. Flights from Brussels to Munich can be booked from now on starting at 19 Euro introduction offer, and afterwards from 29 Euro (one-way, depending on availability, including booking & payment fees). Bookings can be made online at www.transavia.com, via the Transavia Service Centre (+352 27002728) and via travel agents (flights are available in Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre).

Munich has much to offer to both business and leisure travellers. The capital of Germany’s southernmost state Bavaria and a world-class city, Munich combines tradition with modernity. Munich’s wealth of art and culture, its rich history, and colourful traditions provide an ideal base for group and incentive programs as well as for individual travellers. Munich offers approximately 62,500 hotel beds; 5,000 restaurants; and more than 60 museums.
