Cargolux Airlines International S.A. welcomes the decision of the General Court of the European Union delivered today, annulling articles 1 to 5 of the European Commission’s 2010 decision in the alleged air freight cartel, including the full annulment of the €79.9 million fine previously levied on Cargolux.

Cargolux will conduct a detailed analysis of the Court’s decision.

In November 2010, Cargolux and a number of other airlines were fined by the European Commission for their participation in an alleged cartel in airfreight, following investigations initiated by the European Commission on 14 February 2006.

Luxembourg, 16th December 2015

Note: The Air France Group got an even better deal: their annulled fine amounted to 127 million euro (KLM) + 182 million (Air France) + 29.5 million (Martinair). All airlines together would have had to pay 799 million euros if the fina had not been annulled.
