Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, is now offering travellers greater access to Europe following a major codeshare expansion with airberlin.

The deal will see Air Serbia widen its network reach to seven new cities by placing its JU flight code on airberlin operated flights to Alicante (Spain), Billund (Denmark), Faro and Funchal (Portugal), Innsbruck (Austria), Karlsruhe (Germany) and Reykjavik (Iceland).

In addition, guests flying with Air Serbia will be able to take advantage of additional codeshare travel options with airberlin to Barcelona and Madrid, two of the biggest cities in Spain, where the airline also offers connections with Alitalia and Air Europa.

Seats on the new flights can be booked from 27 January for travel from 3 February, either through the Air Serbia website on airserbia.com, Air Serbia sales offices or travel agents.

Dane Kondi?, Chief Executive Officer of Air Serbia, said: “We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with airberlin to provide guests with a more attractive travel offering in Europe.

“With this expansion, passengers travelling with Air Serbia now enjoy easy connections over Germany to a total of 33 destinations served by airberlin, using just one ticket for the entire journey.

“This development, which is the second codeshare expansion between our airlines in January 2016, comes in the wake of our announcement that we will codeshare to the United States and perfectly demonstrates our drive and commitment to improving air access.”

On 14 January, Air Serbia announced it would begin codesharing on airberlin services to Chicago, Miami and New York, greatly enhancing connectivity between Serbia and the United States.
