The first built Airbus A380s could be scrapped already, German weekly magazine WirtschaftsWoche announced this weekend.
The leasing contracts with Singapore Airlines’ A380s will expire next October, and Dortmund supplier Dr. Peters Group doesn’t find new airlines to operate the double-deck wide-body aircraft.
Dr. Peters Group CEO Anselm Gehling told WirtschaftsWoche that the leasing company is looking for successors, but they couldn’t rule out dismantling the first built A380s. Investors will save money, as spare parts -especially engines- are still worth a lot of money.
